About Ochlockonee River State Park
Lake Ochlockone (meaning "yellow water") is a river that flows untouched and deep into the Gulf of Mexico. Picnic and bathing spots are located on the banks of the river, just a few hundred meters from the shore, and the jewel of this park is that you can escape for a refreshing swim, picnic or even swim in the stream to the edge of the water.
Along the way, visitors can explore the park and admire the diverse wildlife, including birds, reptiles, amphibians, mammals, birds of prey, fish and reptiles, and amphibians.
A boat ramp provides easy access to the river, and the waters in the park are home to a variety of freshwater and saltwater fish, including perch, bream, catfish and perch, as well as many species of birds and reptiles.
For overnight guests there are two fully equipped campsites, one for adults and two for children, as well as a campsite with picnic area, picnic table and picnic tables.
Youth group camping is also possible and is considered an excellent location for canoeing and fishing. Freshwater fish include freshwater fish and marine species such as perch, bream, catfish and spotted perch. Redfish and brown trout are widespread in the brackish waters, white trout and blue fish in the sea water.
Persons aged 16 and over must have a Florida freshwater fishing licence and all registered saltwater species must have a saltwater fishing licence and a permit for recreational fishing.
In the summer months, rangers are offered guided hikes and campfire programs, as well as nature trails along the river and in the pine forest.
Quiet time must be observed from 23: 00 to 20: 30, and pets must adhere to this time, and no ties may remain unattended for more than 30 minutes.
Florida law requires that all pets be vaccinated against rabies, and their owners must collect their pets from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDCS) and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
Animals that are noisy, dangerous, intimidating or destructive must not stay in the park and must be locked up and locked away.
Animals may not be kept on the grounds of the park and breaches of these rules may result in campers being asked to put animals up in the parks or leave the campsite. The Ochlockonee River State Park is located at the intersection of Interstate 75 and Interstate 95 near the town of Chatham, Georgia, about 30 miles south of Atlanta.
