Richard B. Russell State Park is located on a 26,500-acre lake and offers some of the best fishing and boating in the state. A nature trail leads along the shore to one of our old steel jetties and returns to the beach. Directly on the water is a fully equipped holiday home with pool, spa and picnic area right on the beach, ideal for a relaxing holiday.

The course features a golf course, a LEED-certified clubhouse, golf courses and an indoor / outdoor swimming pool, as well as a tennis court, tennis courts and a wellness center.

Several Indian sites have been excavated in the lake - a lake filled with water, suggesting that Paleoindians lived in the area, which is now called Rucker. On the east side of the park, near the intersection of Interstate 95 and Interstate 90, there are several prehistoric sites, including a cave, burial ground and an ancient village.

The 6,800 yard course is located on a peninsula in the National Park and the views of the water are breathtaking, with 10 - 18 holes lined by Lake Richard B. Russell. The Bob Walker design has been compared to more expensive locations on Lake Oconee because of its sophisticated layout and scenic views. An exception to this comparison is that the house on the lake is - side by side - on the course itself, which is the theme for the State Park golf course. Parking for disabled people is available, even on the beach.

Arrowhead Pointe is the only public place on this list, but it is included due to its proximity to Lake Richard B. Russell and Lake Oconee.

Opening hours may vary depending on the season, and reservations are accepted on recommended weekends and holidays. Open all day on Christmas Day, but only by prior arrangement and reservation for the day.
