Iowa has a huge variety of outdoor activities throughout the year, and some of the state's most popular parks, such as Gull Point State Park in Iowa, offer truly wonderful outdoor recreation.

Beautiful Gull Point State Park, founded in 1933, is one of the oldest state parks in Iowa State and the second largest in Iowa. The roads are paved, the campsites are well shaded and offer a variety of outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, fishing, canoeing, mountain biking, kayaking, hiking and much more. GULL Point offers a good variety of camping facilities, as well as a number of hiking trails and trails for cycling and snowshoeing. There are two main campsites at Gully Point, one on the west side of Gill Point and one on the east side, both near the campsites.

There are 112 campsites, 60 of which have electricity and half are still open for camping, according to the motto "first come, first served." Reservations for the campsite can be made online at the Gull Point State Park website or by calling 1-888-762-5555.

Built in 1930 by the Civilian Conservation Corp., Gull Point Lodge is the largest such facility in the state, according to the park's website.

The lodge is available on a reservation basis with a park manager and can accommodate up to 140 people. It is a lodge with two bedrooms, a bathroom, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a dining room and a kitchen that must behave.

West Okoboji and many other lakes are some of the best fishing spots in Iowa and anglers will find a challenging sport that follows a variety of wild fish including whale, bluethroat, perch, trout, redfish, whitefish and other fish species.

Gull Point is a great place for family picnics and several open shelters are available and can be reserved by the park manager for a fee.
