About Fort Boonesborough State Park

When Daniel Boone and his men reached the Kentucky River on April 1, 1775, they moved to build what is still known as Fort Boonesborough. The fortress offers visitors an insight into the life of the families who lived along the river in the 19th century and built locks and dams. Today, local artisans give visitors a glimpse of the life of Kentucky's pioneers as they demonstrate their work on the walls, furniture and other artifacts of the fortress.
