About Chicot State Park
The cool, clear waters of Lake Chicot offer some of the best fishing in the state and the most scenic views in New Hampshire. The park covers an area of rolling hills and a variety of lakes, rivers and streams. The fishermen will enjoy the beautiful lakes and picnic areas on the lake and the picturesque lakeside with its beautiful views.
Chicot also boasts a unique combination of natural resources and land, and the hiking trails allow visitors to experience and enjoy the natural landscape of the park.
A Chicot State Park birding guide is also available, and the surrounding forest is home to many bird species as well as a variety of other wildlife. Next to the main entrance is an area dedicated to a living natural exhibition of wildlife such as birds of prey, reptiles, amphibians, mammals, birds and reptiles. All this contributes to its natural beauty and unique natural history, with a wide range of species.
Olympic swimming pool on the shores of the lake, swimming is a pleasure, and the pool is monitored by certified lifeguards on Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends.
The playground will delight children all day long, from the pool to the lake, and picnickers will find a wide selection of beautiful places to eat. Most have tables, barbecues and gazebos, and many of these areas overlook the vast lake.
Lake Chicot is completely surrounded by extensive hiking and backpacker trails and includes several primitive campsites along the way. These paths allow visitors to experience and enjoy a variety of scenic views of the park and the lake itself. Cyclists are welcome to ride on the roads within the parks, but for visitors who prefer a higher speed, much of this route is designed for mountain bikers.
Artifacts, exhibits and live demonstrations will present aspects of this unique culture as well as a variety of food and beverages.
Ville Platte, which means "flat city" in French, but is still French - and still home to a population of about 2,000 people.
It traces the history of the city from its foundation to the Civil War, from the beginnings of its development to its decline after the war and from then on to the present day.
It is located in the west of the city, in the heart of downtown Chicago, near the intersection of North Main Street and South Broadway.
Take 49 North to Exit LA 106 South and turn left onto LA-106 (LA 3042 South), then turn right onto North Main Street. Turn left onto North Broadway and pass the main entrance into the park.
South, exit I-49 from US 167 and direction Ville Platte, then left onto LA-106 (LA 3042 South) and turn right onto Main Street.
