Sleepy Hollow State Park, one of the most popular hiking and camping destinations in the United States, hosts some of the best hiking, camping and hiking trails in America.

More than 228 species have been recorded in Sleepy Hollow State Park, with more than 1,000 bird species and over 2,500 birds of prey. During migration times, water birds should look over Lake Ovid, and gulls and bald eagles were also rarely spotted. The hiking trails lead to a variety of lakes and streams, as well as a number of waterfalls, lakes, ponds and wetlands.

Lake Ovid has proved a popular destination for birdwatchers, as well as a great place for fishing and boating. The boat moorings and parking are paved and it is one of the most popular spots in Sleepy Hollow State Park for kayaking and fishing.

In Clinton County, there are two boat moorings operated by the park, one at Lake Ovid and the other at Lookout Lake, both in the parking lot of Sleepy Hollow State Park. Besides its popularity as a fishing and kayaking destination, Lake Owid is also a great place for birdwatchers, boating and canoeing.

Canoeing and kayaking are popular activities in Sleepy Hollow State Park, and you can rent rowing boats, kayaks, canoes, pedal boats, or even a kayak for $1 per hour.

Three picnic areas are located throughout the park, and the East Picnic Area also features vaulted cabins, picnic tables, picnic tables and picnic chairs. The picnic area has a hand-held water pump, as well as picnic benches, tables and chairs for picnic food and drinks. At the northwest campsite there is a picnic tent with space for up to 10 people and a fireplace.

All accommodations are available free of charge on the basis of first - come, first - serving and can be reserved for a fee per day. The East Picnic Area offers a picnic area with fireplace, and all accommodations are available free of charge or per day and are served free of charge on a first-come-first-served basis.

More than 11 km of hiking trails are available for cyclists, mountain bikers and hikers, and some of the trails in Sleepy Hollow State Park are open to cross-country skiers. There are more than 10 miles of hiking trails in the national park, of which you can take more than 11 miles.

Snowmobiles are allowed to ride in the western part of the park as long as at least four centimetres of snow is on the ground. They are forbidden on cross-country ski trails and must have a current registration.

From the parking lot at the entrance to the park on the west side of the road turn right and onto the east side, then right onto a hiking trail.
