The wooded valley is one of the most popular hiking trails in upstate New York, but some require intermediate skills.

The Gillette Visitor Centre offers an interpretation of the ecology of the dunes and information on the natural history and history of the dune ecology of the park.

This beautiful complex overlooking the high sand dunes is considered one of the top attractions in the Midwest. The center offers a variety of programs to help visitors enjoy and understand the dune ecology and the natural history and history of Gillette State Park.

In the centre there is an exhibition hall, which represents the unique ecological zones of the dune landscape. More than 1,000 plant, animal and plant species from all over the world are shown in this 82-seat hall.

Seasonal exhibits such as birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, birds and birds of prey, as well as a variety of animals and plants, will also be on display.

The centre is open from 10 am to 5 pm. Closed on Saturdays and Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. From 1 December to 15 January, the centre is closed on Fridays and Saturdays from 9 am to 6 pm. The centre is open on Sundays from 11 am to 5 pm and on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 8 am to 5 pm, but is closed from 2 am to 9 pm.

Casual hikers and nature lovers will find a variety of natural attractions in Hoffmann State Park, with a wide selection of hiking trails, picnic huts to reserve and plenty of picnic opportunities.

The main attraction is the dune staircase that leads to the top of the highest sand dunes.

From there, a viewing platform offers panoramic views of the dunes and Lake Michigan.

Highland coasts and waterfowl abound, and when the wind comes from the east, falcons can fly high above the beach in the sky.

The Visitor Centre offers lectures, guided walks and special events throughout the year, and winter activities are offered. A three-kilometer-long hiking trail marks the entrance to the Dunes Trail, one of the most popular hiking trails in the park.

Schools can use the Visitor Centre and the programmes during the school year, and programme information is available at the Centre. For freshmen, an orientation program is offered, classroom and seasonal teaching materials are available, and special events are available for students in grades 3 to 5.

Classes also include guided outdoor experiences, and groups are limited to 35 students each. The visitors centre staff communicate environmental issues, but only to a limited extent.

P.J. Hoffmaster State Park is dotted with forest - overgrown dunes, sandy beaches that are among the most beautiful in the world, and a variety of wildlife habitats. One of the focal points is the Gillette Visitor Center, but it also houses a number of other attractions, including a picnic area, a hiking trail, an amphitheater and even a museum.
