Get a view of the Missouri River and enjoy the natural beauty and sounds of Weston Bend State Park, one of Missouri's most popular tourist attractions. This once thriving Missouri River town can be attributed to tobacco growing and trading, but it is also home to a number of other historic buildings and sites.

Tobacco production still plays a role in the region's economy, and five tobacco barns, one of which has been converted into a closed shelter, are located in Weston Bend State Park, illustrating the important role of the industry and the history of the region.

A scenic view, accessible to people with disabilities, offers visitors a view of the Missouri River and Fort Leavenworth. Hikers and cyclists enjoy hiking trails that wind around the edge of a cliff through the forest. A hilly wooded area that winds through an old, growing forest on the west side of Weston Bend State Park also offers a beautiful view over the river.

A secluded picnic area with open shelters, which can be reserved, is an ideal place for family celebrations. A large open area for visitors who wish to stay longer than one day is open to all visitors, with picnic tables, picnic chairs and a picnic table.

Weston Bend State Park offers a simple electric campsite and services include camping, hiking, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, mountain biking and hiking trails. Spend a day away from the daily grind and enjoy the beauty of the mountains, the picturesque views and the solitude of a quiet, peaceful campsite.

Reservations are only accepted for camping stays in low season, and a minimum stay is required for a full day camping stay of at least two days.

Each site will hold up to 40 feet of trailers and there are no overflow areas. Additional parking is only allowed in the shower cabin parking lot and must be located near the entrance to the campsite and the shower. No additional parking is allowed on the streets, but in the overflow parking lots.

Weather and emergency sirens are located on the north side of the park, north of the campgrounds.

Campers can hear it from the shower house, from the parking lot of the shower cabin and from the telephone charge in the shower house.

The entrance gate to the park is served by a gate on the north side of the campground, north of West Bend State Park. Campers must arrive before closing the gate, campers at least 30 minutes before closing.

Throughout the park there are numerous picnic areas for visitors to enjoy, and it is an ideal place for large gatherings and picnics. There is a closed shelter that can accommodate up to 100 guests, as well as a large picnic area with picnic tables, picnic chairs and a picnic table.

This accommodation must be reserved in advance for $100 per day by calling the parking office, or $10 per day at the parking office. During the day, an open shelter is available that can accommodate up to 50 guests - use area with picnic tables, picnic chairs and picnic table.

This open accommodation can be reserved for $35 per day for up to 35 days in advance and is available free of charge if not reserved. This path is open daily from 7 a.m. to sunset and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (the first one comes first) and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. for the public.

Hiking is allowed along the way, but pets must be kept on a leash and horses, roller skates, knives and skateboards are prohibited in this area. Bicycles are allowed to ride only on asphalt surfaces and cyclists must follow the same road rules as motorists.

Stay on designated trails to protect protected resources, such as hiking trails, trails in the park and trails within the national park itself.

The trail is a two-mile asphalt road that winds through the loess hills that dominate Weston Bend State Park. The trail crosses a stream twice and crosses an asphalt hiking and cycling trail in winter.

There are no mileage markings to help hikers extend their distance and time, but the trail crosses two streams and crosses asphalt hiking / cycling paths in winter.

Cyclists must keep to the right, but walkers can go both ways, and cyclists left, right or left.

The trail runs through summer and winter, offering hikers views of warehouses and distilleries, as well as picturesque views of the city of West Bend.

Bear Creek Trail is a one-mile trail that takes hikers right to the edge of the Missouri River and runs along the former Missouri River bed, which has been a canal since 1858. Harpst Valley is a loop, about 1 km long, that starts at the crest of the left overlooked path. Preventive programs are offered Saturdays from April to October by the Weston Bend State Park Department's Natural Resources Division (DNR) and the Parks and Recreation Division.

The entrance to State Park is approximately one mile on the right on the west side, and I-29 takes exit 20 from Weston, Leavenworth and Atchison, KS to exit 20.
