About Big Lake State Park

Big Lake State Park is located on the eastern edge of Big Lake, Missouri, north of the city of St. Louis.

Boat trips, fishing and abundant waterfowl make it a popular destination for boating and fishing, as well as a great place to picnic and camp. The park is located near the Missouri River, which forms the largest Oxbow Lake in Missouri at the end of its channel-controlled river.

Today, visitors to the 407-hectare park can enjoy a variety of activities, including hiking, camping, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, hunting and fishing. The park also has large swamps that preserve examples of the early Missouri landscape. This makes Big Lake State Park a great place to rest for wildlife and a popular destination for hikers and mountain bikers.

Big Lake State Park also offers excellent bird watching and is a quiet and peaceful place for a day trip to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. From April to November, Big Lake State Park offers motel suites and cabin accommodations. Visitors can stay at the park's motel or rent one of the comfortable lakeside cabins.

Due to the overwhelming demand for these units, a deposit of at least one day is required to reserve a unit. A refund of the deposit or the possibility to receive a refund on your deposit if you do not receive it within 30 days of the reservation date because there are no available units.

Renting a cabin on Memorial Day or Labor Day weekend requires a minimum of two nights, but reservations are not accepted by email. Check the availability of bed, linen, towels and hotels immediately and make your reservation.

The following information refers to 2006, but all motel rates are based on one or two person occupancy. Each motel room has its own balcony with lake views, and each additional person costs $10 per night, which can accommodate a maximum of four people.

A maximum of three people can stay in each room, and each suite has its own balcony with lake views and private bathroom. Physically demanding rooms with all the above amenities are available, but only for a minimum of four people.

Each suite costs $75 (plus taxes) for one to four people. Each additional person costs $10 per night, which can accommodate a maximum of six people, and all suites are subject to 75% tax.

A maximum of four people can stay in a special suite, and suites for disabled guests, such as those with a pool, pool or spa, are also available, but only for a limited period.

Big Lake State Park is located on the west side of Big Lake Lake, north of the city of St. Paul, Minnesota. There is a concrete jetty, an outdoor swimming pool, a lake view motel and a picnic area.

Big Lake State Park is located about 90 miles south of Omaha, take I-29 North at Exit 79 of the US Highway and head south at the Mound City Exit (Exit 84).
