About Wharton State Forest
Wharton has a variety of river and creek trails, including much of the Batona Trail. Among the animals that attentive visitors can see are red-tailed falcons, screeching owls and black bears, as well as birds of prey such as the black bear.
The Wharton State Forest is home to a glassmaking center and a number of glass factories. There is also a museum, an old, growing forest park and the old mill area, which today reflects the agricultural and commercial enterprises that existed here in the late 19th century.
The cabins are located on the Atsion Lake and are adapted for disabled people. One cabin can accommodate up to 8 people and three of them can accommodate 6 people. Five of the cabins can accommodate 4 people each, and one of these cabins can accommodate 8 people.
Drinking water, toilets and showers are within walking distance from the cabins, as well as access to a picnic area, picnic tables, toilets, a fireplace, water fountains, fireplaces and picnic areas.
The sanitary points are open from 1st April to 15th December, the campsite from 1st April to 15th December. Please call beforehand for fire regulations and call beforehand for fire regulations.

The Mullica River in Lower Forge is accessible only on foot, canoe or on horseback, motor vehicles are not allowed. Buttonwood Hill and LowerForge have water, but no other areas are accessible by car. The water pit at the foot of the hill in the lower forge and the pit at the top hill have hand pumps, water pits and toilets.
The maximum capacity of the campsites is 50 - 250 persons, please call the campfire regulations and the maximum number of campers per campsite.
The Mullica River offers a variety of leisure activities such as hiking, camping, fishing and canoeing.
Canoeing is also possible on the river, as well as in the creeks and streams of the park.
The village consists of over thirty historic buildings, including the Old Town Hall, the State House and several other historic buildings. Part of the Batona Trail is maintained as part of a 50-mile path that connects the village to the main network of paths in the park and the Mullica River Trail.
The property is now open for guided tours and there is an entrance fee, but no entrance fees to the park or the village itself.
The nature reserve consists of two sections bordered by the rivers Batsto and Mullica and includes a vast forest of white cedars and pines that borders the Oswego River. There is a freshwater wetland corridor and the natural areas include a large number of wetlands and a variety of native plants and animals.
The leisure area opens daily at 9 a.m. and there is No entrance is required and swimming is allowed, as the lifeguards are in use from 10 am to 6 pm. Swimming is also available in the Oswego River recreation area. A lifeguard is on duty at all times of the day and night, except weekends and holidays.
The Wharton State Forest has two recreational areas, Batsto Village and the Oswego River Recreation Area. The village of Bat sto is located at the intersection of the Atsion River and the Os away, in the town of AtSion, New York, about 30 miles west of Rochester. The Bat Stove Village is also about 20 miles east of Albany, south of New Haven, New York.
