The picturesque picnic area is ideal for day trips and family celebrations, and the lake is a popular fishing spot. Visitors are welcome to learn more about the history and natural beauty of Tuscarora State Park. The locust mountain falls directly on the south side of Lake Tuscarsora and seems to look both from the lake and from the land used for daily use.

The beach has marked bathing areas and buoys, and lifeguards are in use, but swimming is not allowed. Unless otherwise stated, swimming and boating are only allowed on weekends in the summer months from 11 am to 11 pm and from 12 pm to 5 pm.

Rowing boats, canoes and pedal boats are available at the park's boat rental and concessions. All motor boats must be registered by the state and all non-motorized boats must have one of the following boat registrations from each state.
