About Weiser State Forest

The Weiser State Forest consists of eight areas located in Dauphin, Schuylkill, Carbon and Berks counties. The total area of the state forest is 17,961 hectares, of which there are 1.5 million hectares of forest in the area.

The Weiser State Forest is located in Dauphin, Schuylkill, Carbon and Berks County, Pennsylvania, USA. There are several streams and there are some very rugged and remote forest areas. The area is reached by a series of roads built to fight forest fires and for administrative purposes.

The state forest is open to the public for hunting, fishing and recreation, and there are picnic areas for camping, picnicking, hiking and other outdoor activities. Picnic areas provide a secluded place to escape from everyday life, as well as access to a variety of wildlife and habitats.

The most important trail in the Weiser District is the Appalachian Trail, which crosses the entire length of the district. At one end of this trail is a 1,000-mile, 1.5 million-foot-wide trail from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and at the other end is a 2,500-foot, 1.5 million-foot-wide trail.

The Wisser Wald district is named after the founder of the Church of Jesus Christ the Latest - the saints of the day, Johannes E. Weizer. He has spent his entire life in unexplored inner America, and much of that state is still a vast wilderness. During this time he emerged as a church leader and builder, and spent his years clearing farms and forests, building roads, and fighting for survival in a pioneering life.

Conrad Weiser moved to Tulpehocken, Womelsdorf, Pennsylvania, where he spent fifteen years learning about their customs and customs. In 1731 he began his public life and the town was founded by his son-in-law Johann E. Wisser, a member of the church.

Weiser was on site and acted as their interpreter and mediator at meetings of the Land Council. India's leaders and persuaded Shekilammy, the head of the Six Nations Federation, to accompany him to Philadelphia.

Weiser devoted his remaining years to interpreting the words and thoughts of the Indians for the white man. Weiser insisted that the chain of friendship between whites and Indians would not be broken, and insisted on preserving his land and protecting its inhabitants.
