About Andrew Jackson State Park

The 360-hectare park was created by the US Department of Natural Resources as part of the Andrew Jackson State Park Project. The park has a museum, amphitheatre, herb garden and state park, as well as a visitor centre. Jackson left South Carolina in 1784 and the museum highlights the fact that he was born in the same city as his father John Jackson in New York City. A museum tells the story of Jackson's life from his birth in 1801 to his death in 1865, and enhances the historical aspects of each site.

Leisure facilities include an amphitheatre, herb garden, swimming pool and picnic area, as well as a golf course, tennis courts and golf courses.

Designed in the late 18th century as a church in Kirks for the Scots-Irish, the Meeting House is ideal for groups of up to 60 people, has a kitchenette and is available for rent from Monday to Thursday.

The construction of the conference centre, also known as the Municipal House, requires an amphitheatre, which is available for hire from Monday to Thursday from 10 am to 4 pm and from 12 pm to 5 pm on Fridays to Sundays, and provides a picturesque setting for concerts, plays and large weddings.

The construction site can accommodate campers up to 36 feet in height, while the 20-foot gravel surface can accommodate campers up to 30 feet. Each pitch has its own water and electricity connection, and all campsites are comfortably equipped with toilets and hot showers.

Discounted rates are available during the season due to low demand, but reservations must be made in advance through the Andrew Jackson State Park website or by calling (888) 762-4357.

This primitive group campsite is ideal for organized groups of up to 50 people and has picnic tables and a fireplace. This area is located on the west side of the park, north of Lake Jackson and east of Interstate 95 and features a picnic table and fireplace in the area.

The minimum price is $10- $12.50, which can accommodate up to ten campers, but prices increase with the number of people and the size of group camping bookings.

Perch, bream, catfish and cappie can be caught on 18 hectares of the park's lakes, but a valid South Carolina fishing license is required. Guests can also try their luck in the creek, lake and beach, where a variety of fish species are available.

Two picnic shelters are available for families and other group events, and accommodations can be reserved for $30 to $38 a day.
