About Kerrville State Park

The Schreiner Park in Kerrville is one of the most beautiful parks in the state of California and the second largest park in California.

The original park was built in the early 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). The park was formerly operated by TPWD, but is now operated by the city of Kerrville and one of the notable attractions is Camp Verde and Verdes Creek. It has a lot to offer in terms of the hilly development of the country and the different cultures involved in its development.

There is also a well-known gap in the chain of mountains through which it passes, and it is also home to one of the most famous camel trails in the world. It was active from 1855 to 1869 and had about 75 camels stationed there. It was the site of the US Army, which used the camel for transport through the desert in the southwest.

The park offers a hilly landscape, where hills and arroyos populate the hills above and below. The Texas Blue Herb is one of the most popular plant species in the park, along with the Texas Sagebrush. Other plants include a variety of shrubs, grasses and trees, as well as a number of wild flowers and shrubs.

White-tailed deer, which make Hill Country a famous hunting ground, are abundant in the park. You can fish cappie, perch, catfish and perch on the Guadalupe River. The park also has a number of fishing areas, such as the creek, the creek bed and the river itself.

The town of Kerrville is about 20 miles south of Fredericksburg, a small town of about 5,000 people. Nearby attractions include the Enchanted Forest, the Texas Museum of Natural History and the Kerr County Courthouse.

For years the park has served as a hub for the Easter Hill bike tour, and the park administration building is located on the left. The park can be accessed from Fredericksburg via Interstate 35 or from Kerr County Courthouse via I-35 to Kerrville.
