About Jim Hogg State Park

Jim Hogg State Park, a state park in Rusk, Minnesota, is located on the east side of the city, just south of Interstate 35. The property was transferred to the state of Minnesota in 1941, opened the same year and is now administered by the city of Rusk.

Hogg revolutionized government and the private sector by building public respect for law enforcement and establishing the Texas Railroad Commission, which enforced state antitrust laws and promoted fair business practices.

In the pine forests of eastern Texas, visitors can observe wildlife, hike, fish, camp, picnic and take advantage of hiking trails. You can also experience the natural beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the largest national park in the United States.

The park is located on the eastern edge of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, north of Asheville, North Carolina. Nearby attractions include the Hogg Mounds National Historic Site, a historic site with more than 1,000 acres of natural beauty. Other attractions include the National Hoggy Genealogy Workshop, which houses a museum, a history museum and a collection of historic photos and artifacts from around the world.
