About Bastrop State Park

Bastrop State Park is located in Bastrop County, Texas, south of Austin and west of the Texas-Texas border. It is an isolated region of lost land, covered with hardwood pines, with a small stream, a creek bed and a large stream.

The park was bought by the town of Bastrop and a private owner in 1933 and 1935 and opened in 1937. The original improvements to the park were made by a civil protection corps and an additional area was acquired in 1979.

Whether beginners or advanced, children, adults, children and adults alike will find fun here.

There are roller coasters and you can enjoy the Lost City of Bastrop and Bastrop State Park.

The beautiful Lost Pines of Texas bring visitors back to the park year after year. This pine and oak forest covers about 70 square kilometers and is part of the westernmost pine forest in the state.

The simple pine forests are isolated from the main part of East Texas' Pines by a pond - a forest in the shape of a porto. For more information, call (713) 888-467-7500 or the Texas Department of Natural Resources at (877) 884-5555.
