Choosing the best spot for a day trip to Lake Kegonsa State Park in North Carolina can be a difficult task. It offers a beautiful, sculpted lake, scenic views and many hiking and cycling opportunities for all ages.

The lake covers 3,209 hectares and is over 30 feet deep, and Lake Kegonsa offers a variety of water sports including kayaking, canoeing, hiking and cycling. Visitors to the park can fish, hike, camp, fish and camp in the lake. In the camp, visitors can start their boat, walk along the trails, picnic in the park or enjoy the beach.

The 3,209 hectare Kegonsa Lake is the most striking feature of the park, with a depth of over 30 feet and an area of 4,000 square meters. Lake KEGONSa State Park awaits visitors to provide a high quality recreational experience. It was founded in 1962 and officially opened on August 12, 1966 as the first state park of its kind in the United States.

During the last ice age, the present northern United States was occupied by four different giant glaciers originating in Canada. Wisconsin Glacier slid through much of Wisconsin, which many geologists believe is a large part, and rolled over large parts of it.

The glacier slid through the park area, creating a wide terminal moraine and creating Lake Kegona State Park, the largest lake in the state of Wisconsin.

The park was once covered in glacial ice, but as the glacier melted and retreated, its meltwater carried huge amounts of sand, gravel and debris, filling some of the old river valleys. Melting ice also threw huge amounts of glacial rock and debris into the parking lot. Today, the old valley, dammed in some places by glacial debris, bears the famous "Hold the dam!

The park's main entrance to Lake Kegonsa State Park is located in the park's parking lot, on the west side of Lake Kegana.

This chain of beautiful lakes is located below the valley floor and is located in the middle of the Kegonsa valley, north of Lake Kegana. The four lakes are connected by the Yahara River, and the area is known by some as Lake Kegona. On your journey north you will meet the north and south sides of these lakes as well as the east and west sides of a small stream.

The name Kegonsa is attributed to the Ho-Chunk and Winnebago Indians who once lived in the area, as well as the name of the park.

Today, Lake Kegonsa is still one of the most popular campgrounds in the state of Wisconsin and a popular tourist attraction. Some campsites have 80 pitches, 68 of which are reserved; others are heavily wooded and can only be reached on foot or by bike.

Only one pitch is allowed per pitch, which can accommodate up to four campers, two adults and two children, as well as a dog. Drinking water is available in several places on each campsite and there are two electric campsites for campers with disabilities in the park.

Each camp has three pitches, which can accommodate up to 20 campers per pitch, and three pit toilets, located on each campsite. The toilets and showers are located near the entrance to the campsites and can be closed depending on the weather.

Each camp has pit toilets and a fountain, and Group B has a picnic area on site and has picnic areas on each site.

Parking is limited to six cars per space, but there is a crowded car park near the beach and parking on the nearby beach chairs.

Reservations for families and groups are highly recommended and accepted, but reservations are immediately confirmed. The campsites are full and group campsites are only suitable for tents, campers, trailers and pop-ups. If you have a reservation, please confirm your reservation immediately, as the campsite is well filled.

One is in the upper picnic area, and the park is located just a few miles from the parking lot of Lake Kegona State Park and a short walk from the lake.

All accommodations have normal domestic outlets and can be reserved by mail, telephone or in person. Water is available from drinking fountains in the shelter and from the fountain at the top of the picnic area.

Sand volleyball courts and horseshoe pits are on the property, but volleyballs and horse-drawn sleighs can be returned to the park office for a $5 deposit.

There are no trash cans or recycling cans in the park or on the campgrounds, but the implementation is done by the Lake Keck State Park Department (DEP) Environmental Protection Agency.
