About Wind Creek State Park
The park covers 1.5 million square feet, or about 3,000 square miles, and includes a government-run campground with 625 pitches, many of which are in the creek, allowing campers to fish and swim right on their doorstep. Ten tents and huts have been erected, three of which are now open to the public. Other facilities include a picnic area, swimming pool, picnic tables and picnic areas, and a water park.

All campsites at Wind Creek are considered uninhabited and anyone who registers must immediately cover the area with bonafide camping equipment. The campground in the wind Creek is operated by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and the Windbach Campground Management District. All night, reports are reported to the State Park Police Department (WPSD) or the Forest Service (FSS).

All prices are subject to change and all boats require a minimum stay of 4 hours, and some boats last only 2 hours or less.
Lake Martin is located on the west side of Wind Creek State Park, south of the Mississippi. This Alabama Power Company reservoir covers 39,100 acres and has a coastline of more than 700 miles.
Water levels drop by about 10 feet in winter, and most access areas are designed to absorb the annual decline. A variety of fishing boats, kayaks, rafts and other recreational equipment are available to facilitate boat trips and fishing.
Wind Creek State Park has a 210-foot fishing pier and sells bait and equipment at the Marina Store.
Wind Creek State Park provides the perfect environment for family recreation and relaxation. The park offers many opportunities to relax in the shade of the whisper pines, overlooking Lake Martin, the Mississippi River and the Gulf of Mexico.
Picnic pavilions are available, and picnic tables and barbecues are also available in the park, with a variety of food and beverages available for purchase. What comes first is served first, so picnic tables are always available at Wind Creek State Park for $5 per person.
At Wind Creek State Park, two trails offer visitors a view of flowering dogwood and white-tailed white deer, as well as Lake Martinique. There is also a horse riding trail that gives riders access to a trailhead at the northern end of the park, and another trail offers spectacular views over Lake Martinique, with views to the east, west, north, south, east and west.
The three connecting paths (blue, white and orange) are about 1.5 miles long and each path starts and ends in the northern part of the park. The trails are mostly medium and marked with yellow markings, with some steep climbs and descents and some steep bends.
In spring, the deciduous combs of dogwood, beech, oak and thortensia are coloured in a bright colour. The trails are led by a small group of volunteers from the Wind Creek Park Conservancy and the Park Board of Directors.
About halfway through, a series of rock outbreaks occur, bounded by a plethora of ferns. At the end of the trail, we cross a small stream and join a path that leads south to the southwest corner of Wind Creek State Park.
This path is actually a loop with no beginning or end in the immediate vicinity, but it is marked in red along its entire length. Road 128 divides the trail into two parts: a medium to heavy trail, about 3.8 km long, that leads through a deciduous pine forest.
The north side is about 1.95 miles and the south side is 1.8 miles; there are a number of natural features, including a small stream, a creek bed, an old - growing pine forest and a stream, as well as a path.
The Jeff Reed Horse Trail offers a variety of insights into wild life and leads riders through a vast forest of deciduous forests, pines and ferns to a creek overlooking Lake Martin.
