About Tongass National Forest
You can camp in tents and cabins or hike on wooden paths to the moor, which was once used for musketeers.
Enjoy the salt water fjords and endless waterways, and explore world-class caves and hike in the oldest caves in the world.
Visit Tongass and observe the largest and most diverse glacier system in the world in North America. You can visit the glaciers on land and sea and of course you can catch herring and fish in the salt water fjords.
Tongass has 150 rustic cottages scattered throughout the park, some of which are reserved for special events such as hiking, camping, fishing and camping in the lakes and fjords.
