The 1,150-acre Lake Wapello could easily be described as a country club in an Iowa national park. The tranquil elegance of the lake provides the perfect backdrop for a day trip to one of the state's most scenic lakes.

The 14 family homes on Lake Wapello provide a wonderful opportunity to spend a vacation in Iowa.

The beautiful lodge has been converted back into a restaurant and you can enjoy the lake view and good food when you visit Lake Wapella State Park.

Each cabin, which comfortably accommodates 4 people, has a relaxation room, shower and cooking facilities. Each tenant must provide his own bathroom, kitchen, bed and other basic needs for the cottage.

Modern showers and relaxation rooms are available, as well as a trailer tipping station. Lake Wapello State Park will house 89 units, 44 of which will have electricity and 44 without. You can book your cabin for a fee by calling toll-free at 1-877-IAPARKS or by e-mail or telephone.

The campsites are located directly on the lake and offer the best opportunity for a clear lake. Reservations for the campsite can be made online at the Lake Wapello State Park website or by calling 1-877-788-4357. Half of the RV parks are still First Coming, First Serve based on First - First Serve, with a limited number of spaces available.

The newly renovated stone and wood beachfront building at Lake Wapello State Park offers visitors many services including a picnic area, picnic tables, restrooms and other amenities. Part of the building can also be rented if you want to reserve a shady spot for a family celebration on the beach.

Beach users can buy food, drinks, snacks, water, beach towels or other items in the concession area of this building.

Learn more about the restaurant and reserve a shelter at the Lake Wapello State Park Visitor Center on the west side of the park. In the shade of a large stone and wood building at Lake Wapella State Park, there is a shaded picnic area, and this building has picnic tables, picnic chairs and other amenities.

You can reserve accommodation for a fee at the Lake Wapello State Park Visitor Center on the west side of the park or through a park manager.

Cross-country skiing is a popular activity in winter, but the park also offers several hiking trails and opportunities for snowmobiling. There are several kilometres of hiking trails leading to and from the lake and park, and on the north side of the parks there are nature trails.
