The shooting range is open to the public all year round and offers a protected shooting range for handguns and rifles. It is operated by a private concessionaire and is part of the Big Creek State Park recreational area. The opening hours are Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, Saturday from 9 am and Sunday from 8 am. The range is open all year round, but only for special occasions such as weddings and special occasions.

The newly developed fishing and skeet area also offers challenging leisure activities and is open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. In this area there is also a picnic area with picnic tables, picnic chairs and picnic benches.

Big Creek State Lake was created in the late 1950s by the construction of a diversion dam on the Big Creek River in Polk County, North Carolina, to protect Polk City from flooding. The diversion dam, which consists of a 1.5-mile long 1.5-metre long dam, is primarily a flood protection project, but also offers a variety of leisure activities.

Dry dock rental arrangements can be made through the parking office. The fishing pier is accessible to people with reduced mobility, and the modern ramps have sailing boats, parking and vehicle parking.

Open picnic huts in pleasant surroundings around the lake can be reserved for a fee through the concessionaire, and brown picnic tables are handicapped accessible. Big Creek State Park, one of the largest state parks in the state of Minnesota, offers a variety of outdoor recreational activities.

Thirteen kilometers of snowmobile trails offer winter recreation, and Big Creek is also popular with cross-country skiers. Cyclists and pedestrians are allowed to drive south to south of Saylorville Lake from the beach to Des Moines.
