About Lake Francis State Park
Lake Francis is one of the largest lakes in the USA, covering a total area of 2.5 million square feet. Anglers enjoy a wide variety of fish species, such as whale eyes, capercaillies and trout, as well as anglers and hunters.
Canoeists enjoy exploring the upper part of the Connecticut River, and boat moorings are available in day-use areas throughout the park.
Late autumn campers should be aware that the park is open from 9 am to 5 pm on weekends and from 8 am to 4 pm on weekdays. Lake Francisco State Park has no running water in the summer months, except in spring and summer for a few hours a day.
