We rented a cottage, fell asleep to the lullaby of the spring messengers and the chorus of frogs, and let the hustle and bustle of life take center stage as we walked the paths of Hanging Rock State Park and participated in interpretative programs. There's something new and a lot of nature to discover in North Carolina, and we discovered it all at H hanging rock state park just outside Asheville.

Nestled in the hills is a cool mountain lake that attracts swimmers and fishermen, and picnic areas and campsites are ideal for spending time with family and friends. Hanging Rock State Park offers beautiful mountain views, beautiful waterfalls, scenic trails and a variety of activities for all ages.

Hanging Rock State Park is one of the most popular hiking and camping areas in New York State and also hosts the largest number of hiking trails in North America.

The striking peaks of the Sauratown Mountains rise from 1,700 feet to 2,500 feet and stand out from the surrounding landscape, which averages just over 800 feet. The Saura Indians, who once inhabited this region, are the remains of a once mighty mountain range. Wind, water and other forces have worn down the high peaks over many millions of years. They are often referred to as "the mountains" or "the mountains away" because they are separated from the nearby Blue Ridge Mountains.

The remains of these ancient mountains are covered in erosion and hard quartzite, which today carry scenic ridges and branches, including the famous "Mooring Rock Knot" and "Hanging Rock Cooking Knot," both within the Hanging Rock State Park.

In 1936, the original owner of Hanging Rock State Park, William H. Macy, donated 3,096 acres to the state of North Carolina to create a state park. Only in 2000 the park was expanded by further areas, which increased the total area to 6,921.

Many of these parks were created by the Civil Conservation Corps (CCC) between 1935 and 1942, and a concrete and earth dam completed in 1938 created a 12-hectare lake. Other facilities at the CCCC included the Hanging Rock Campground, a campground and picnic area, as well as a water park. A swimming pool, amphitheatre, picnic areas and other facilities for children have also been built.

The bathhouse has been on the National Register of Historic Sites since 1991, and a $35 million bond approved by voters in 1993 was used to finance construction of the new Hanging Rock State Park water park and amphitheater.

The stone and wood structure is fully accessible and offers views of the park's water park and amphitheatre, as well as the Hanging Rock River. It also houses park offices and serves as a focal point for thousands of people who visit the parks each year. The family campsites, with 73 tent and trailer pitches, offer host families and family-friendly camping - picnics, tents, fishing, hiking and camping.

Each campsite has picnic tables, barbecues and camping mats, and all but one is wheelchair accessible, with access to the water park and amphitheater of the park.

For each campsite that is available on the principle of "first come, first served" a modest fee is charged. There is no connection between recreational vehicles and the landfill, but there is a small parking lot for vehicles at the entrance of the park to the water park and amphitheater nearby.

For organized groups, the eight campsites at the entrance gate offer a wilderness camping experience at a modest price. Each place has a picnic table, a fire and a place to eat with picnic tables and fire, as well as access to the water park.

One of the cabins is wheelchair accessible, and there is a pit toilet and water nearby, as well as access to the water park and picnic area.

Each cottage has a twin room with kitchen and living room, and the cottages can be rented daily or as summer rentals, which is only possible weekly.

No reservations are required, but you must fill in an application form and send it to the park and check the availability of the cabins.

Hidden in the hills is an inviting 12-hectare lake created by the damming of Cascade Creek. The stone and wood bathhouse has a lounge area overlooking the lake and Moore Knob, as well as a dressing room overlooking the surrounding slopes. A path along the lakeside offers views of the lake and surrounding forest, as well as access to a picnic area, picnic tables and picnic tables.

Rowing boats and canoes can be rented in summer, but private boats are not allowed and a state fishing license is required. Swimming is allowed from 10 am to 6 pm in summer and from 11 am to 5 pm in winter.

Perch and bream are abundant along the coast, as are a variety of other fish species such as mussels, Valais and bluefin.

Two picnic areas offer $60 per picnic area and $15 per barbecue, and all picnic tables are wheelchair accessible. One area is shaded by large trees from the deciduous forest and houses a picnic table, picnic chairs and picnic benches, as well as a barbecue. The other picnic area is bordered by shady terraced slopes overlooking the lake, with a large picnic bench and barbecue area.

Drinking water and toilets are nearby, as well as a picnic table, picnic chairs and a barbecue area with picnic tables and barbecue.

The picnic area for groups has a picnic shelter, and all three accommodations have tables and fireplaces, as well as a picnic table, picnic chairs and picnic tables.

More than 18 miles of wooded passages form the backbone of Hanging Rock State Park, the largest national park in the USA More than 1,500 miles and more than 2,000 feet of hiking trails are just some of the rewards you can explore on foot.

People with disabilities will enjoy the short, barrier-free path to the rocky outcrops. The walk - in deck is located near the Visitor Center and offers unobstructed views of the Hanging Rock.

Rangers regularly hold group classes at Hanging Rock State Park and other state parks in the area.

The Hanging Rock program introduces students to basic geological concepts and is accompanied by a teacher's book and workshop, which are free of charge for teachers. H hangRock was developed for grades 5-8 and is North Carolina's equivalent of the state's geological knowledge, geology and geophysics, as well as the area's history and geography.

Enjoy the plants and animals that live on the rock walls and streams, learn about geology, watch videos about the park's founding fathers, turn stones, try to build walls of stone and enjoy the natural beauty of the rocks and the plants and animals that live on them. Climbing in the parks is possible with permission, but only on private land and only with permission of the owner or park manager.

Other areas of the park are closed to climbing and abseiling, but climbers can register by filling out an activity permit available at the park office. The almost two kilometres high rocks offer opportunities for experienced mountaineers and beginners.

There is no fee for the permit, but a $5 fee per person per day or $10 for a group of up to six people per year.

All basic safety equipment and techniques for climbing must be used at all times and all participants are responsible for personal safety, including ensuring safety for themselves, their friends, family members and other participants. For all activities, a copy of the permit must be deposited in the registration box and handed over to the parking attendant. Each participant receives an additional copy and must have been in possession throughout the entire climbing and abseiling.

Hanging Rock State Park is located on the west side of Lake Huron, north of the city of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. In addition, you should definitely make a day trip to the Saura Indian Museum in the visitor center in the park. The exhibition hall is open daily from 10 am to 4 pm, and you can learn more about the "Saura tribe" and its history in its museum, as well as take a guided tour of its traditional clothing and styles. Take US-52 to 40 North, take Germanton NC-8 exit and follow NC 8 for 25 miles to Danbury. From there, turn left at the Hanging Rock Road exit and continue for two miles until you turn right into the parking lot of the Saura Indian Museum at the visitors center in H hanging rock.
