About Bear Mountain State Park
The historic Barenberg guesthouse overlooks the Hessian Lake and offers fine cuisine and overnight accommodation. Bear Mountain State Park is located on a rugged mountain that rises on the west bank of the Hudson River. The park has a jetty on the Hudson River where small boats can dock, and an outdoor ice rink is available for skaters from late October to mid-March.
The Perkins Memorial Tower on Bear Mountain offers 360-degree views of the Hudson River and the New York City skyline. It features hand-painted scenes, hand-carved seats and a variety of native animals, including deer, elk, wolves, coyotes, foxes, bears, elk and other wild animals.
