Millersylvania State Park is one of the most scenic and beautiful state parks in Pennsylvania. The park is rich in old paths, cedar fir trees and hosts a variety of wildlife, from birds to birds of prey to wild flowers and wild horses.

Millersylvania was built almost entirely by hand by the Civil Defense in 1935. Embedded in the historic park are cedars, which were created in the late 19th and early 20th century as part of the state's natural forest system.

The state capital is a few miles north of the park, and the Deep Lake property attracts boaters, swimmers and fishermen. The park is open all year round - for tent and day - but is not open to the public during the summer months.

The Miller family, who once owned the property, originally called the park Miller's Glade, but the family later changed the name to Millersylvania, meaning "forest glade."

The Millersylvania buildings were built almost entirely by hand by the Civil Defense in 1935. The 842 hectares of the park were managed by Squire Lathum until 1855, before being sold to John Miller.

After the timber industry used several sledge runs in the 19th century, the Miller family handed over the estate to the state in 1864. A part of this land, which was used as a park for a long time, is still located on the grounds of the park.

The stumps still bear traces of springboards used to support beefy loggers, as well as the remains of the original toboggan runs and the old log cabin.

This charming two-storey apartment is located on the east side of the park, just a short walk from the hiking trail, and offers plenty of comfort in idyllic parkland. The Millersylvania Environmental Learning Center (E LC) is the only public environmental education center in Pennsylvania and one of only a few in North America. It has a full-time and part-time staff of eight full and part-time staff as well as a small group of volunteers.
